This facility has an approved Nutrient Management Plan on file with KDHE. There will be no other changes in the operation. This represents an increase in animal units from the previous permit. The proposed action is to modify and reissue an existing NPDES permit for an existing facility for 55,000 head (55,000 animal units) of cattle weighing more than 700 pounds. This facility has an approved Waste Management Plan on file with KDHE. The facility will consist of approximately 10 acres of open lot pens and a waste management system consisting of one sediment basin and one wastewater retention structure. The proposed action is to issue a new state permit for a facility for 980 head (980 animal units) of cattle weighing greater than 700 pounds. This permit is also being modified to construct an additional enclosed grower building as well as a multi-bay composting structure. There is no change in the permitted animal units from the previous permit. The proposed action is to modify and reissue the existing State/NPDES permit for a facility for a proposed maximum capacity of 19,000 head (7,600 animal units) of swine weighing more than 55 pounds each and 20,000 head (2,000 animal units) of swine weighing less than 55 pounds each, for a total of 9,600 animal units. Pending Permits for Confined Feeding Facilities The final action will result in a Federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Authorization and/or a Kansas Water Pollution Control permit being issued, subject to certain conditions, revocation, and reissuance of the designated permit or termination of the designated permit.
